Sasa Marinkov

Sasa Marinkov cuts wood as a way of defining an idea and often literally carves out a route. Her subjects are of the city or man-made and natural landscapes, with an emphasis on the transitory, as in the idea of journeys undertaken. Marinkov finds the appeal of the physical nature of the cutting action and of working with a resistant material to produce hard-edged and sometimes fractured lines more dynamic than using a pencil or a paint brush.

Marinkov has exhibited extensively in the UK and abroad, including The Royal Academy Summer Show and was also elected a fellow of the Royal Society of Printmakers (RE).
